Agricultural water treatment and raw water filtration for irrigation, rural properties and council infrastructure.
Raw water in North Queensland is rarely consistent. Bore water carries hardness and iron, surface water turns over after rain, and the pumps, emitters, boilers and pipework downstream pay for whatever gets through. Eureka Water & Filtration treats water at the source, so growers, councils and water utilities can protect the infrastructure they have already paid for.

Agricultural water treatment starts with your water source
The source decides what your water needs.
Bore water
Hardness, iron and salt
Common problems
Scale on emitters and pipework, iron staining, and salty water.
Usual treatment
Media filtration for iron, softening for hardness, and RO or desalination for salt.
Dam and river water
Sediment and turbidity
Common problems
Mud and organic matter, especially after rain, blocking filters and emitters.
Usual treatment
Media and multimedia filtration sized for peak turbidity.
Council and utility supply
Plant performance
Common problems
Ageing plant, sludge build-up and treated water falling out of specification.
Usual treatment
Plant audits and servicing, and desludging.

Agriculture and water utility FAQs
How do I remove iron from bore water?
Iron is usually removed by oxidising it so it forms particles, then filtering it out with a media filter. The right method depends on iron level, pH and other minerals, which a water test shows.
Do I need reverse osmosis for my bore water?
Only if the water is too salty or hard for its intended use after filtration. A water analysis tells you whether filtration alone is enough.
How do I get my water tested?
We supply sample bottles, you take the sample, and we test it and send you a report with our analysis and recommendations. Testing is charged depending on what needs to be tested for.
Do you work with councils?
Yes. We audit, service and repair council and utility water treatment plants, and desludge lagoons and drying beds.
Can you protect irrigation equipment from bore water?
Yes. We size filtration to protect pumps, emitters, drippers and pipework from sediment and scale.
What water treatment does agriculture need?
It depends on the water source. Bore water usually needs iron removal, softening for hardness, or reverse osmosis for salt. Dam and river water needs filtration that can handle mud and organic matter after rain. A water test tells you which applies. If the water is for drinking, compare the results with the Australian Drinking Water Guidelines.
Can you treat dam or river water that turns muddy after rain?
Yes. We size media and multimedia filtration for peak turbidity, so the filters cope with the worst water after rain, not just the average.
What size reverse osmosis systems do you supply for farms and rural properties?
Compact reverse osmosis skids start from 2,500 L/day for salty or hard water. Larger systems are sized to your daily demand.
Need your source water treated?
Whether you are protecting irrigation from bore sediment or maintaining a council plant, send us a water test and we will tell you what it needs.
