Reverse osmosis systems from 2,500 litres to over 1 million litres per day (1 ML/d).

Reverse osmosis (RO) pushes water through membranes that hold back dissolved salts, hardness, metals and most other contaminants. We supply compact skids for camps, plants and farms, larger industrial plants for mine and process water, and a containerised unit you can hire, then service them from our Townsville workshop. We also build containerised systems to suit your site requirements. When a plant goes down or a deadline is close, we respond quickly with technicians and spares, and can mobilise an RO system to site within days.

Industrial RO plant builds

Industrial plants are built to your feed water and duty rather than picked from a catalogue. A typical build includes:

Pre-treatment
Media and cartridge filtration, plus antiscalant dosing to protect the membranes on variable feed water.

Membrane trains
RO pressure vessels and high-pressure pumps sized to your daily volume and recovery target.

Cleaning system
A clean-in-place (CIP) skid so membranes can be cleaned on site without removing them.

Monitoring and controls
Flow, pressure and conductivity monitoring, with output quality recorded for your compliance file.

Housing
Skid-mounted in your plant room, or built into a container for remote and temporary sites.

Polishing options
Ion exchange or EDI added where you need targeted removal or very high-purity water.

Reverse osmosis FAQs

What size reverse osmosis system do I need?

It depends on how much treated water you need each day and on your feed water quality. Our systems range from 2,500 L/day to over 1 ML (1,000,000 L) a day. Send us a water analysis and your daily volume and we will size it.

Can reverse osmosis treat bore water and mine water?

Yes, with the right pre-treatment. We match pre-treatment to your source, whether bore, dam, river, pit or tailings water, based on a water analysis. If the treated water is for drinking, it should meet the Australian Drinking Water Guidelines.

How much of the feed water becomes treated water?

On brackish water, RO commonly recovers around 50 to 80 percent of the feed as treated water. The rest leaves as concentrate. The achievable figure depends on your feed chemistry, and we confirm it from your analysis.

How often do RO membranes need replacing?

With good pre-treatment and regular cleaning, membranes commonly last several years. Poor pre-treatment or scaling shortens that.

Do you service RO systems you did not supply?

Yes. We service and supply membranes and parts for RO systems from other manufacturers.

Do you supply reverse osmosis and water softeners for homes?

Yes. We supply and install home reverse osmosis systems, and supply water softeners and whole-house filtration. See our Home Water Treatment page for what we offer and to request a quote.

What is reverse osmosis?

Reverse osmosis (RO) is a water treatment process that pushes water through a semi-permeable membrane at pressure. The membrane holds back dissolved salts, hardness, metals and most other contaminants, producing clean water on one side and a concentrated reject stream on the other.

Can I hire a reverse osmosis plant?

Yes. Our Mobile Pure Water unit is a containerised RO plant treating over 1 ML/d, available for hire or purchase. We have one hire unit, so contact us early to check availability for your dates.

What pre-treatment does a reverse osmosis system need?

Most RO systems need filtration to remove sediment and antiscalant dosing to stop membranes scaling. Water high in iron, manganese, organics or bacteria may need extra steps first. We set the pre-treatment from your water analysis. Where the water carries fine solids, ultrafiltration before the RO protects the membranes.

What do you need from me to quote an RO system?

A recent water analysis, the daily volume of treated water you need, what the water is for, and your site location. You can submit these online for an obligation-free analysis and recommendation.

How long does it take to supply an RO system?

Lead times depend on the size of the system. Where it is needed, we can bring a containerised RO system to site within days, and we confirm delivery dates for standard skids and industrial plants when we quote.
