Water testing FAQs

How much does water testing cost in Townsville?

A bore water analysis is $385 inc GST. Prices correct as at October 2026 and may change. Other tests, including potability, irrigation, cation / anion and livestock bundles, are priced depending on what needs testing. Contact us and we will recommend the right test and give you a price.

How long do water test results take?

Results usually take about 7 days, depending on the test type.

Are your water tests accurate?

Yes. Lab analysis is carried out by a NATA-accredited laboratory, so results are measured to recognised standards. We then review the results and explain what they mean for your water.

Do you test bore water?

Yes. Our bore water analysis shows what is in your bore and what treatment it needs, for example a water softener, iron removal or reverse osmosis. If it needs treatment, see bore water treatment.

Can you test tank or drinking water for bacteria?

Yes. E. coli testing can be added to our potability (drinking water) test.

Where can I get my water tested in Townsville?

We supply the sample bottles and instructions. You can drop the sample at our workshop at Unit 1, 72-78 Crocodile Crescent, Mount St John (Monday to Friday, 8am to 4:30pm) or post it to us. We collect samples as part of a project.

How do I take a water sample?

Use the bottles we supply and follow the instructions for your test. Samples for bacteria testing need to be kept cool and reach us quickly.

What should a water analysis include?

For most treatment designs we need pH, conductivity or total dissolved solids, hardness, iron, manganese, alkalinity, silica, chloride, sulphate and turbidity. For drinking water, add microbiological results. For mine or discharge water, include the metals listed in your permit.

What file types can I upload?

PDFs and photos of your lab report both work. If your file will not upload, email it to info@eurekawater.com.au with your site name in the subject.

What happens after testing?

You receive a report with our analysis and a recommendation. If your water needs treatment, we can quote the right system, from home water filters to industrial plants.
